On March 22, 2022, Professor Xia Ningshao's team published a research paper entitled "Structures of pseudorabies virus capsids" in Nature Communications
PRV, also known as porcine herpesvirus type I virus, belongs to the alphaherpesvirus family
PRV is a herpes virus with complex structure and life history.
In addition, this study elucidated for the first time the in situ structure of the capsid-associated cortex protein complex CATC and the genome entry and exit portal protein on C-capsid, and found that the overall structure of the PRV portal protein is highly similar to that of alpha-herpesvirus HSV-1 , portal and other related proteins interact significantly differently from gamma-herpesviruses
Wang Guosong, postdoctoral fellow of the National Research Center for Infectious Disease Diagnostic Reagents and Vaccine Engineering Technology, Zha Zhenghui, a master student, Huang Pengfei, a doctoral student, and Sun Hui, a doctoral student, are the co-first authors of the paper.
