May 26, 2022 - PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced that the company is committed to developing near-term climate-science-aligned emissions reduction plans for the company through the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which aims to Helping businesses develop decarbonization strategies and reduce the impact of climate change
.
PPG's existing target is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 15% by 2025 from 2017 levels, and to achieve a phased reduction of 9.
7% in 2021

The company continues to report the emissions intensity of its own operations (Scope 1 emissions) and the emissions intensity of purchased electricity, steam, heating and cooling (Scope 2 emissions) over the long term, and plans to announce its new 2030 emissions reductions in the coming months target

● Introduced PPG ERGOLUXE™ powder coatings with a one-time application rate of up to 85% and reuse of oversprayed coatings

PPG ErgoLuxe Eco contains up to 13% recycled rPET

Since 2017, PPG has used more than 6 million pounds of rPET to produce coatings

● Released PPG COMEX® TOP coating, which has made an outstanding contribution to the circular economy through the recycling of used tires since its launch in 2021, with more than 270,000 tires recovered from landfills
