PPG begins automotive OEM sealant production in Morocco

PPG recently announced the opening of a plant in Tangier, Morocco, that will produce automotive sealants for local automotive production

The plant, the company's first automotive paint production facility in Africa, will initially supply materials for the Renault Group's Dacia-branded vehicles in Tangier and Casablanca
.

Roald Johannsen, Vice President of Automotive Coatings EMEA, PPG, said: “The launch of this facility is an important step in providing local supply to OEM manufacturers in Morocco

The country is already Africa’s largest and fastest growing automotive One of the producing countries

Vehicle production is expected to increase significantly and two additional production facilities are expected to be added by 2030.

PPG's Tangier plant will produce the sealant, making vehicle design and manufacturing more flexible

The company is evaluating local production of more adhesives, sealants and coating technologies to supply automakers that are expanding production in Morocco
