Portugal and the Netherlands announced a memorandum of understanding last week to collaborate on the development of green hydrogen
.
The two countries will work together to explore the potential
of approving hydrogen projects as Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) under European Union (EU) national aid rules.
The collaboration, which brings together Portugal and the Netherlands' Hydrogen 2030 plans, also includes the exchange of knowledge and information on hydrogen between the two countries, as well as the promotion of research and development (R&D)
related to the hydrogen value chain.
Support for IPCEI policies under the Memorandum of Understanding, while also defining the mechanisms and conditions
for the export of green hydrogen from Portugal.
