    Laser welding is a joining method with numerous advantages, but it is difficult to practically use laser welding for PPS due to its low laser transmittance and associated high-volume production issues, such as a narrow processing wind.


    The laser transmittance of DURAFIDE (R) PPS is increased by approximately 6%, resulting in a wider processing window for a wide range of welding conditio.


    DURAFIDE (R) PPS supports the use of laser welding for the production of automotive electrical components, a method previously unavailable for the production of automotive electrical componen.


    Polyplastics is currently advancing a development program to provide improved PPS laser transmittance and further widen the processing wind.
