On November 28, Polyplastics Co.
, Ltd.
announced that it has officially decided to relocate its head office and plant located in the North District of Nantong Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, China ("PNL") to the southern area of the development zone, while expanding its compound production capacity
.
PNL was established in March 2012 to provide a wide range of engineering plastic products
mainly for the Chinese market.
Reason for relocation
According to the corresponding policies, the Nantong Economic Development Zone requires chemical enterprises located in the northern area of the region to stop operations
.
Therefore, Baotai Ling Engineering Plastics (Nantong) Co.
, Ltd.
(PTM), a polyacetal resin production plant located in the northern district, announced that it will establish Dabaoli Engineering Plastics (Nantong) Co.
, Ltd.
("DPE") in the southern area of the development zone in January 2022 as an alternative
.
At the same time, it was decided to relocate PNL to DPE's premises in order to maintain the efficiency of the
production chain.
Expansion of production capacity
Polyplastics plans to start operations at the new location in January 2025 and will expand its compounding facility to meet the huge global demand for engineering plastics, increasing annual production from 9,000 tons to 21,400 tons
.
Polyplastics believes this growth will help further improve the local production system to meet demand in China (POM, PBT, PPS, LCP), improve lead times and transportation costs, and meet customer needs
.
At present, Polyplastics has four POM resin production sites around the world, including Fuji Plant, Kaohsiung Plant, Kuantan Plant, and Nantong Plant, and sells POM, PBT, PET, PPS, LCP and other composite products
to the world.
