Poland expects its first nuclear power plant to begin operations after 2030 as the country plans to cut electricity use from coal
, Reuters reported.
The Eastern European country will host global climate talks in December, with about 805 percent of its electricity coming from coal from outdated power plants, many of which will be shut down
in the next decade, the deputy environment minister said.
He also revealed, "We will accelerate the discussion of
starting a nuclear power plant.
" These are mainly about international partnerships
.
We are able to finance the construction ourselves, but we have to extract the technology
from somewhere.
”
He added that Poland will negotiate
nuclear technology with France, the United States, Japan and South Korea.
Earlier, he served as a former deputy energy secretary, and he said, "The energy secretary is also engaged in such negotiations
with the United States.
" Recent signals show that they are very advanced
.
I hope that nuclear power plants will start generating electricity
after 2030.
