HYOSUNG CHEMICAL JAPAN PP PLANT TO START PRODUCTION
SOUTH KOREA'S HYOSUNG CHEMICAL (HYOSUNG CHEMICAL) ANNOUNCED THAT ITS POLYPROPYLENE (PP) PLANT IN VIETNAM WILL START PRODUCTION
WITHIN THIS MONTH.
As a result, Vietnam's annual PP production will be expanded to 1.
2 million tons, four times
the current annual production.

Hyosung Chemical has been in trial production
at its PP plant in Ba Ri Vung Tau Province in southeastern Vietnam since January 2020.
In 2018, Vietnam imported a total of 1.
34 million tons of PP.

When the plant comes on stream, Hyosung Chemical's products may replace imports
.
With the sharp increase in PP demand, Hyosung Chemical's profitability in the Southeast Asian market is expected to increase
significantly.

In addition, another propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant under construction by Hyosung Chemical in Vietnam is scheduled to start operations in 2021, with annual operating profit expected to increase by 80%
year-on-year.
