Recently, Petronas Chemical Corporation (PCG) announced that the company has completed the transfer from Financière Forít

l acquired specialty chemicals company Perstorp for $2.
4 billion
.
Mohd Yusri Mohammed Yusof, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PCG, said: "This acquisition is part of our go-global strategy and creates a new platform
for us to grow in the specialty chemicals industry.
PCG said it will enhance Perstorp's value through its efforts, with major development initiatives including expanding Perstorp's global presence
by strengthening its market position in the Asia-Pacific region.
PCG added that it will work to ensure that Perstorp's growth projects
are completed in a safe and productive manner in a timely manner.
Mohammed Yusov added: "We are advancing the sustainable development agenda
.
Perstorp will help PCG projects achieve net-zero carbon emissions
by 2050.
"The acquisition of Perstorp will increase PCG's overall production capacity by 2.
3 million mt/year, contribute approximately 28% of PCG's incremental sales revenue based on 2021 results, and support PCG's medium-term goal of achieving 30% of its sales revenue from non-traditional businesses
by 2030.
Former PCG managing director and CEO Sazali Hamzach previously said the company remains focused on its ambitious growth targets and extends further down the downstream value chain through its involvement in derivatives and specialty chemicals to cement its position
as a regional leader in the chemicals market.
