    Recently, Petrofac announced that it has been awarded a contract by TenneT, a Dutch-German transmission grid operator, to build the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind project, an optional Beta HVAC substation
    in Alpha and the North Sea.

    The Dutch government plans to increase total offshore wind capacity to 3.
    5 gigawatts
    by 2023.
    To achieve this, the government plans to install five 700 MW standardized concept substations
    offshore the Netherlands.

    Petrofac will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the third and fourth substations with a total contract value of approximately $200 million
    .

    The HKZ platform Alpha is scheduled to be operational in 2021, while the HKZ platform Beta is still subject to a tender from the Dutch government for wind farm concessions, which is subsequently scheduled to be operational
    in 2022.

    Petrofac Group Chief Commercial Officer said, "We are involved in some of TenneT's projects in Beihai and are therefore pleased to have the opportunity to support
    them with this important project.
