Recently, PC-1, a new generation of absorbent solvent independently developed by the carbon capture team of China Petrochemical Research Institute, completed industrial tests
at the Golmud refinery.
Under the condition that the gas processing capacity of complex components is 50,000 cubic meters per hour, the purity of carbon dioxide is stable to more than 99.
7%, the operating efficiency is increased by more than 20% compared with traditional amines, and the cost saving is expected to exceed 20%.
In addition, the absorption and desorption performance of the new solvent is greatly improved, which solves the problem
of rising costs caused by oxidative degradation and corrosion runaway of solvent in an oxygenated flue gas atmosphere.
Carbon capture technology is the first step
in carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technology.
However, due to the problems of small technical scale, low heat exchange efficiency and high capture cost of domestic carbon capture, the large-scale development of
CCUS industry has been affected.
To this end, the Petrochemical Institute takes low-cost capture as the core of technical research, adopts quantum chemical computing technology, mines the formula of chemical solvent gene bank, and develops a new generation of absorbing solvent PC-1, which reduces the volume and land occupation of equipment while increasing the processing capacity, and reduces the cost
of capture.
The second stage of the new solvent test, the large-scale test of the hypergravity desorption reactor, will be carried out
in April next year.
This stage of the test will mainly test the matching degree of the new solvent and the new reactor, reduce the energy consumption capacity of desorption, long-term use and improve the desorption efficiency
.
