Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has signed a 40-year agreement with PetroChina to acquire a 10% interest in the Umm Shaif and Nasr concessions and a 10% interest
in the Lower Zakum concession.
The um Shaif and Nasr fields produce 460,000 barrels of oil and 500 million standard cubic feet of natural gas
per day.
The Lower Zakum field produces about 450,000 barrels of oil
per day.
Italian oil giant Eni and French oil giant Total also have concessions
in both offshore fields.
