On December 17 , China National Petroleum Corporation released the 2020 version of the "World and China Energy Outlook" report in Beijing .

Zhang Hualin, assistant general manager of CNPC, said in his speech that since 2015 , CNPC has organized experts to strengthen the study of energy development laws and transformation trends, and regularly publishes the mid- and long-term outlook report " The World and China’s Energy Outlook in 2050 ", striving to contribute to global peace.

The analysis of the outlook report pointed out that the global new crown pneumonia epidemic has a significant short-term impact on primary energy demand.

At the just-convened climate ambition summit, President Xi Jinping announced previously that “we strive to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 ” and further announced new measures to increase the intensity of nationally determined contributions.

The report predicts that China's energy-related carbon emissions will peak around 2025 , then maintain a plateau period of about 5 years, and then enter a downward channel, falling to about 2.

The " World and China's Energy Outlook in 2050 " report was compiled by experts organized by the National High-end Think Tank Construction Pilot Unit, China Petroleum Institute of Economics and Technology.
It has been published for 5 consecutive years.
It is one of the most influential long-term energy outlook reports in China.
The international energy field has received extensive attention.
