Petrobras and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have signed framework agreements to facilitate investment
in the Comperj refinery and the Marlim complex.

Since 2013, Petrobras and CNPC are partners in the Libra region, the first contract under the production sharing agreement system, located in the Santos Basin salt layer
    .

In 2017, a consortium of Petrobras (operator, 40% stake), China National Petroleum Corporation (20%) and BP (40%) was the winner of Peroba Block, one of
the most competitive companies in this tender.

The strategic partnership between the two companies will strengthen their relationship and help deepen the global strategic partnership between Brazil and China, both of which are members of
    the BRICS group.

The partnership agreement is also part of
Petrobras' broader plan to revitalize its eastern refining and logistics park.
