Peru's unconventional renewable energy generation was 216 GWh in February, down 2%
year-on-year, the Peruvian Ministry of Energy said in a report on preliminary data from the power sector.
Specifically, in February, natural gas power generation, diesel/coal/waste-to-energy, and combined heat and power and steam power generation fell significantly, falling by 11%, 15% and 13% respectively.
In addition, wind power generation and biomass energy fell by 8%
each.
However, solar power generation reached 64 GWh, an increase of 18%
year-on-year.
Despite the decline in production compared to February 2020, the total share of wind, solar and biomass reached 4.
