Partners Group, a global private markets investment manager, has agreed on behalf of its clients to invest more than $200 million in equity to acquire and build the first phase
of the Murra Warra I wind farm in Australia.
It is understood that the wind farm was acquired from Renewable Energy Systems and Macquarie Capital, which jointly developed the project
.
Construction of the Murra Warra Wind Farm Project began in March 2018 and is expected to be completed
in mid-2019.
The project has long-term power purchase agreements with investment-grade commercial and industrial customers, including Telstra, Australia's largest telecommunications company, Coca-Cola Australia, Banking Group New Zealand, Melbourne and Monash University
.
Once completed, the Murra Warra I wind farm will produce enough clean energy to power 220,000 Australian homes and offset more than 900,000 tonnes of carbon emissions
each year.
The wind farm is expected to support around 150 jobs in Victoria during construction, spurring further investment by local businesses
