African internet service provider Liquid Telecom has begun deploying pan-African fiber optic networks to connect
with Egypt.
The fiber-optic network, known as One Africa, has been deployed for more than a decade and will cover 13 countries, connecting Cape Town to Cairo, Egypt, with a total length of more than 60,000 kilometers and connecting more than 660 cities and regions

In July, Liquid Telecom and Telecom Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding in which Liquid will connect
its network with Telecom Egypt's network through Sudan's new cross-border fiber interconnection system.
"The signing of the MoU is an important step in our strategy to penetrate the African market and provide ET's state-of-the-art technology and global infrastructure services
to customers across Africa.
We look forward to working with Liquid Telecom to develop new network services and products that will help stimulate intraregional trade," said
Ahmed El Beheiry, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt.
