Pakistan's oil minister said on Thursday that the new government would renegotiate the agreement for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminals as part of
a broader investigation into the deal reached by the previous government, according to ISABAD on October 19 by Reuters.
Oil Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said the government led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif agreed to pay Pakistan's Engelo for at least one terminal
.
Kahn told reporters on Thursday: "We have decided to renegotiate
with all parties.
”
Late Thursday, Engro made no mention of the possibility of
renegotiation in a statement.
They responded to some unreasonable suggestions from the minister, saying that bidding for the contract was conducted "in an auditable and transparent manner", adding that the import of liquefied natural gas had helped alleviate Pakistan's severe power shortage
