Renewable energy project developer OX2 reportedly plans to build four wind farms in Finland with more than 107MW
of clean energy generation capacity.
It is understood that these four wind farms have 25 wind turbines and are the largest subsidy-free wind power projects
in the Nordic region.
Of these, the Ponsivuori wind farm will be built in southwest Finland, while the remaining three will be developed
in the Ostrobothnia region.
The construction of the four wind projects is funded by Finland-based IKEA Retail Group, which is part of
the Ingka Group.
IKEA Finland Retail will acquire these projects
when they become operational in 2020.
"We want to have a positive impact
on people and the environment by accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Part of this commitment includes energy independence and wind energy investment farms by 2020, and we are taking a big step forward
in our efforts to produce as much renewable energy as the world consumes.
”
OX2 is the existing owner of the wind farm and the main contractor for the construction project and will also manage the technical and commercial operations
of the wind farm in Finland.
