Recently, First Solar and Origis Energy signed an agreement that will enable Origis Energy to acquire 200MW of photovoltaic projects
from First Solar.
Located in Twiggs County, Georgia, the photovoltaic installation is expected to be the largest solar installation
in the southeastern United States.
Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed

As part of the transaction, Origis will sell all energy and renewable assets of the installation to Georgia Power through Georgia Power's Renewable Energy Development Program (REDI) program

Origis Energy's Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions, said, "We are proud to work closely with
First Solar.
Georgia Power, Southern Corporation and Georgia authorities are critical
to the state's landmark clean energy project.
We will complete this project
together.

The project, which is expected to start construction in November 2018, will consist of
more than 500,000 thin-film solar modules on First Solar's single-axis tracker brackets.
In addition, up to 400 jobs
will be created in Twiggs County during the construction phase of the project.
