Honeywell today announced that Wabash Valley Resources LLC has adopted a series of Honeywell operations in its West Terre Haute, Indiana, U.
    S.
    gasification plant conversion project.
The UOP technology will capture and store 1.
65 million tons of carbon dioxide annually and produce clean hydrogen energy

    .
The project will be one of the largest carbon sequestration projects in the United States to date

    .

"By leveraging Honeywell UOP's proven CO2 capture and hydrogen purification technologies, we will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions
," said Dan Williams, managing director of Wabash Valley Resources LLC.
It will help the market to obtain clean hydrogen energy and promote the growth of the hydrogen energy economy

    .

“Adding carbon capture and storage to the hydrogen production process is an economical solution for many companies looking to make significant progress on the Sustainable Development Goals
    .
” Honeywell UOP Process & Technology Vice President and President Manager Laura Leonard said: “Hydrogen is a versatile energy carrier that can provide low carbon solutions for virtually all industries, including petrochemical and refining, construction, commercial, transport and power generation

    .
We are delighted to see Customers like Wabash Valley Resources, LLC trust Honeywell UOP to provide optimized technology solutions to meet project requirements

    .
    "

Honeywell UOP will provide technology licensing, basic engineering and specialized equipment, including the modular MOLSIV™ molecular sieve dehydration unit, the modular Ortloff carbon dioxide fractionation unit and the Polybed™ pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit for the separation gasification unit carbon dioxide in and processing syngas
    .

Ortloff CO2 fractionation technology produces a high-purity liquid CO2 stream while separating out a hydrogen-rich stream that will be purified by a pressure swing adsorption unit
    .
The carbon dioxide stream will be sent to permanent geological storage, while the hydrogen-rich stream can be used as hydrogen turbine fuel to generate electricity

    .
The hydrogen-rich stream can also be used in chemical synthesis, or sold as a clean transportation fuel

    .

"CO2 capture and storage is an important path
    to carbon neutrality.
Honeywell has proven technologies to reduce carbon emissions and has a long history of improving customers' environmental performance and social benefits by providing innovative products and services.

Xiang Lei, vice president and general manager of Honeywell UOP China, said: "In China, we also serve China's 'carbon peak' and 'carbon neutral' by continuously developing products and technologies that meet customers' energy and environmental needs.
and 'goal' to shape a sustainable future with Chinese partners

    .
    "

Honeywell UOP is a leading supplier to the oil and gas field with more than 80 years of business in China
    .
In 1937, Honeywell UOP entered the Chinese market and helped build the Gansu Yumen Refinery, one of the first modern refineries in China

    .
