According to Brian Wood, head of planning and economics at the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP), Oman is making plans to build 6 wind and solar parks with a total capacity of 2.
65 GW
by 2024.

Speaking at the Energy & Water Conference and Exhibition in Muscat, Oman, Wood said plans include the construction of three PV parks with a capacity of 500 MW each and their commissioning
between 2022 and 2024.
Independent power generation projects will be built in Ibri, Manah and Adam
.
In addition to solar projects, the plan calls for the implementation of three independent wind power generation projects
between 2018 and 2024.
The 150 MW Dhofar II wind farm is expected to be commissioned in 2023, and two 200 MW wind farms will be built in Dhofar and Duqm
.
Plans for these projects will be published
in OPWP's "Seven-Year Outlook 2018-2024.
