On October 15, the Baotou expert group passed the identification of off-grid vertical axis intelligent wind power devices, a wind power technology that solves the problem of electricity difficulties for herders in the vast grasslands of
Inner Mongolia.
The off-grid vertical axis intelligent wind power device was planned by the Yellow River Cultural and Economic Development Research Association of Baotou City, and the project team led by Professor Zhang Xiaoqian, a postdoctoral supervisor of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was debugged at the red mud well test site in Guyang County from July to September this year after more than 10 years of intensive research, and was successfully
developed.
In the past, the installation height of wind power installations in grassland herders was about 10 meters, which was relatively limited and unstable, and was also affected by large-scale turbulence caused by ground effects

The R&D personnel of the project team have solved a series of key technical problems, and the off-grid vertical axis intelligent wind power device developed by the project can provide more than 1,600 kWh of electricity per year, which meets the basic production electricity
