Recently, South Korea's LS Cable Company held the launching ceremony
of GL2030, the first submarine power cable laying vessel, GL2030 at the Dong Port of Gangwon Province, where its submarine cable plant is located.

There are only a handful of companies in the world that have the capacity to produce and build submarine cable-laying vessels, and these companies are limited to a few in Europe
    .

LS Cable is planning to increase its submarine cable construction capacity to preemptively prepare for the fast-growing offshore wind business
in South Korea and overseas every year.
GL2030 will be used for domestic projects in the first half of this year, and it is expected to participate in overseas construction projects
    in the future.

"In the past, we had a lot of difficulties with dispatch and other aspects because we rented boats to lay cables from overseas
    ," the company said.
The direct operation of the ship laying the cable will reduce construction time and increase our accumulation and expertise
    in future construction technology.

In his speech at the launching ceremony, LS Cable Chairman said: "LS will embark on its journey to become a global energy solutions provider, a world-class submarine cable manufacturer with subsea construction capabilities, and we will improve national competitiveness by transmitting renewable energy and building an efficient energy network to improve national competitiveness, while also playing an important role
    in solving global environmental issues.
    " ”

The GL2030 is equipped with a system that can precisely adjust and control the position of the vessel, which improves the accuracy when laying cables and allows the vessel to operate
stably even in the event of environmental changes such as strong winds and high tides.

GL2030 will connect a submarine cable
of about 7 kilometers between Hwawon-myeon and Anjwa-do in Shinanan-gun, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, starting in May.
This is a system integration that will transmit electricity generated by offshore wind farms in the Southwest Sea to the mainland in the
    future.

In the past three years, LS Cable has won KRW 800 billion offshore wind cable supply contracts in Asia and signed a supplier agreement
worth KRW 350 billion in North America earlier this year.
As the company continues to receive large orders from overseas, it is expected to be able to participate in overseas construction projects
    in the future.
