On December 7, 2022, the Tai'an-Taixing section of the China-Russia Eastern Route Natural Gas Pipeline Project (hereinafter referred to as the China-Russia Eastern Route) was officially put into operation, and the energy channel in eastern China was fully connected
.
Clean energy from Siberia enters from Xiaoxing'anling and travels south to Shanghai
through the three eastern provinces, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the Bohai Rim.
The Tai'an-Taixing section of the China-Russia Eastern Line pipeline has a total length of 750 kilometers, a pipe diameter of 1219 mm, a design pressure of 10 MPa, and a designed annual gas transmission capacity of 18.
9 billion cubic meters, which took 23 months to complete and put into operation
half a year ahead of schedule.
After being put into operation, the pipeline section can be connected to the West-East Gas Pipeline System in Taixing, Jiangsu, and the "North-South Down" channel will be extended to the Yangtze River Delta region, increasing the natural gas supply capacity in the Yangtze River Delta region by about 50 million cubic meters per day
.
The China-Russia East Route is China's first natural gas pipeline project with 1422mm ultra-large diameter, X80 high steel grade, 12 MPa high pressure grade, and world-class level
.
The southern section of the project is densely populated and economically developed, and the water network and lakes are intertwined in the areas it passes through, and the long-distance parallel laying of built, under construction and planned pipelines has brought great challenges
to the construction of the project.
During the construction process, it has overcome technical problems such as engineering design, pipe manufacturing, and construction, comprehensively promoted the localization of pipeline core control systems and key equipment, and applied 18-meter extended steel pipes to the construction of
oil and gas long-distance pipelines in China for the first time.
Fully promote the application of fully automated welding, automatic ultrasonic testing, and fully mechanized anti-corrosion repair technology, and the one-time pass rate of weld reaches more than 98%, which is 3 percentage points
higher than the national high-quality engineering standard.
Based on the full life cycle data of a new generation of information technology integration projects such as big data and the Internet of Things, it realizes the digital, networked and intelligent management of pipelines from the construction period to the operation period, and becomes a model project
for a new generation of intelligent pipelines in China.
With the full completion of this important energy corridor in the east, on the basis of greatly improving the resource supply capacity of the northeast region and promoting the process of "gasification in the northeast", the China-Russia eastern route has increased the onshore resource supply channel in the Bohai Rim region, easing the region's dependence on imported LNG and reducing gas costs to a certain extent.
At the same time, through the interconnection with the west-to-east gas pipeline system, the Yangtze River Delta region will be promoted to form a four-way gas supply pattern of east, west, south and north, and effectively alleviate the regional pipeline bottleneck
.
The capacity of resource allocation and mutual supply and mutual insurance in China's eastern coastal areas will be further improved, which is of great significance
for ensuring the safety of gas supply during peak periods and promoting economic and social development along pipelines.
The China-Russia Eastern Route runs from Heilongjiang Heihe in the north, passes through 9 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, and reaches Shanghai
in the south.
The total length of the pipeline is 5,111 kilometers, of which 3,371 kilometers are newly built and 1,740 kilometers are used in service, which is the third cross-border natural gas long-distance pipeline
to supply China after the Central Asia pipeline and the China-Myanmar pipeline.
The whole line is approved and constructed
in phases in accordance with the northern section (Heihe-Changling), the middle section (Changling-Yongqing), and the southern section (Yongqing-Shanghai).
The northern section project and the middle section project have been completed and put into operation on December 2, 2019 and December 3, 2020 respectively, the southern section project has fully started construction on January 6, 2021, and the Yongqing to Tai'an section has been put into operation and ventilation
in September this year 。 Up to now, the eastern route of China and Russia has safely and smoothly transported more than 28 billion cubic meters of natural gas, and by 2025, it can stably supply 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year to the three eastern provinces, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and other regions, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 164 million tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 1.
82 million tons per year, making important contributions
to optimizing China's energy consumption structure, promoting the green transformation of development mode, and helping to achieve the "dual carbon" goal.
