According to the NKT Cable Company announcement, Nkt Cable has been authorized by the British Power Grid Corporation and the Danish Power Grid Company to supply nearly 150 km of land cables
for its 525 kV HVDC system.
According to reports, the system is the first submarine DC cable system Viking Link
directly connected to the United Kingdom and Denmark.
At present, NKT Cable has signed a final agreement
with the project owner for cable ordering.
Under the agreement, nkt will supply nearly 150 kilometers of land cables for the project, with a total value of approximately 90 million euros
.
It is expected that cable manufacturing will begin
in 2020.
