On April 27, Nippon Paper announced that it will set up demonstration facilities
for the production of woody biomass fuel in Thailand.

The company said it will work with the paper business unit of Thailand's SCG packaging to produce carbonized wood-based biomass fuel with good thermal efficiency through low temperatures

Production will begin in the spring of 2017, and by the end of December of that year, the company is aiming to see if it can be commercialized
