Equinor, Statoil, hired Nexans to power and control the umbilical cables needed for the three-phase development of the Troll field in the Norwegian North Sea

Nexans umbilical cable supports the third phase development of Norway's Troll field
For the three-phase development of the Troll field, Nexans Norway will design, manufacture and supply static umbilical cables, including high-voltage power components, high-pressure hydraulic lines, low-pressure hydraulic lines, MEG (methanol and ethylene glycol) chemical injection service lines, backup lines and fiber optic communications, all within
one cross-section.
The contract also includes the supply
of connectors, terminals and other umbilical accessories.
The third phase of the Troll project includes the development of the
Troll West structure.
The structure is located at a water depth of about 330 meters, 25 kilometers northwest of the Troll A platform
.
Nexans supplies Equinor with "Made in Norway" products, with electrical and fiber optic components manufactured at the plant in Rognant, Northern Norway, while the complete umbilical system will be developed, manufactured and tested
at the facility in Halden, Norway.
