Recently, French cable manufacturer Nexans reached an agreement with Enedis, a public power distribution service company, to provide the latter with medium-voltage distribution cables and services for the next 4 years, with a total contract value of more than 100 million euros
.
The contract strengthens Nexans' position
in France as a long-term partner of Enedis and a major player in the field of sustainable electrification.
The project combines technological innovation, environmental benefits, superior factory capabilities and digital services, such as the full deployment of ULTRACKER: Nexans' IoT-based digital supply chain solution, enhanced artificial intelligence, and cloud services
.
In line with the continuous development of renewable energy in France, the contract includes a large number of EDR-MAX cables
for connecting onshore wind and solar farms to the grid.
These direct buried cables have been shown to reduce environmental impact
.
Environmental benefits, "Made in France" products and a new generation of eco-designed medium-voltage cables (NF C 33-226) that reduce CO2 emissions by 20% were key
to Enedis' decision to choose Nexans.
"Nexans' contract with Enedis will further strengthen Nexans' activities
in the French home market.
Thanks to our industrial innovations, our partnerships are constantly strengthened and focused on doing everything we can to reduce the environmental impact
of our projects.
Yvan Duperray, executive vice president of Nexans Distribution Cables and Accessories, said
