    Swanhunt Shipbuilding recently completed the loading of output cables from a Belgian offshore wind farm

    The loading operation consists of winding about 28 km of 261 mm output cable weighing about 3,300 tons
    .

    The output cables are transported by cable carrier ship to the DOC-Swan Hunter storage and cable winding yard
    in Vlissingen.
    The cables will be stored in
    DOC-Swan Hunter's new 23-meter rotating disc conveyor belt.
    Cable unloading is expected to be completed
    in the third quarter of 2018.

    Gerard Kroese, Managing Director of SwanHunt Shipbuilding, said: "We are delighted to see our DOC-Swan Hunter storage and cable winding yard successfully complete these cable loading operations

    These operations really use our newly built rotating disc conveyor belt in conjunction
    with the new loading tower.
    We are very proud to have been able to manufacture this new equipment in time and complete the winding operation shortly after, thus achieving a huge milestone

    The support of local supply chains is also enormous

    The output cable is now covered with UV cable protection material until the loading operation is completed
