Total Corbion PLA held an opening ceremony yesterday (September 9) for its bioplastics plant with an annual capacity of 75,000 tons of P.
PLA bioplastics are produced from bio-based materials, which are biodegradable and can provide a variety of environmentally friendly after-use solutions, contributing to the development of a circular econo.
"This is a very proud moment for me and Total Corbion PLA," said Total Corbion PLA CEO Stéphane Di.
The new facility will produce a range of Luminy® PLA resins from locally sourced renewable, non-GMO sugarcane in Thaila.
In addition, Total Corbion PLA operates a lactic acid plant with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, which produces the monomers required for P.
Total Corbion PLA is a factory jointly invested by France's Total (Total) and Corbion, both of which hold 50% of the shar.
The ceremony of the new factory was presided over by Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of the Investment Committee of Thaila.
