Officially, Nepal's government has set up a seven-member committee to hold talks with China to implement bilateral agreements
on energy cooperation.

During Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's visit to China in the third week of June, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding
on energy cooperation.
Nepal's Energy Minister Anup Kumar Upadhyay was appointed as co-chair of the committee, along with representatives of Nepal's Electricity Authority and the Ministry of Energy
.
The meeting of the Committee will be held
in Kathmandu on 27 and 28 September.
Officials said the meeting will discuss
progress in energy cooperation and investment exchanges in the energy sector.
The Commission will lay the groundwork for an enabling environment for government and private investment
in energy development.
Nepal has also signed similar energy cooperation agreements
with India and Bangladesh.
