French developer Neoen said its 128MW Numurkah solar farm project has entered financial settlement, and the company's solar project portfolio in Australia exceeds 1GW.
Work will begin next week on a site in Victoria, meaning the company will own and operate, or actively build, more than 1GW of solar
in the country.
Numarkah has a 15-year power purchase agreement with SIMEC ZEN Energy and a 38MW green certificate purchase agreement
with the Victorian regional government.
The Head of Neoen Australia said: "Numurkah is an important project for Neoen, first and foremost because it marks the achievement of our first Gigawatt project in Australia, both under construction and in operation

He added, "Secondly, because the Victorian Government and Zenzen Energy are long-term partners of Neoen, this project demonstrates our joint efforts to achieve our goal
of providing sustainable, reliable and competitive energy to all Australians.

The Numurkah solar project is expected to begin commercial operations
in May 2019.
