On August 15, Japan's New Energy Industry Technology Development Organization (NEDO) will begin a demonstration experiment
to shorten the environmental assessment time when installing new wind power generation equipment above a certain scale.
Together with the demonstration business that began in 2014, it is scheduled to be announced
by the end of 2017 as a guide for operators of wind power installations.
Japan's New Energy Industry Technology Development Agency said that when the power station is built, it will take four years to complete the environmental assessment procedures
.
The decree stipulates that an environmental assessment
is required for equipment that will generate more than 10,000 kilowatts of electricity from 2012.
If the processing time can be shortened, it is expected to reduce the burden on operators, which will facilitate the introduction and spread
of renewable energy.
In this operation, we will conduct environmental impact surveys for wind power plants that have already been built or are under construction, and compared with the environmental impact assessment report conducted in advance, we should select key investigation projects and improve efficiency
.
Since 2014, Japan's New Energy Industry Technology Development Agency has been promoting "early verification of environmental assessment" and aims to halve the time for environmental impact assessment procedures by conducting environmental impact surveys in advance
