Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVN), Madhya Pradesh, India, has reportedly extended the deadline for submitting bids for 33 MWp rooftop solar projects to August 17, 2018
, against the backdrop of a safeguard duty on solar installations in July this year.
The state's government-run company has invited applications for 33 MW of rooftop solar projects
under the renewable energy service company model.
The company has extended the date from August 9 to August 17, 2018, due to several requests from participants
, a statement said.
The statement clarifies that the revision date is due to the recent implementation of safeguard obligations, adding that time will also be used to study the data of the 577 sites available in the data room and fill in 27 different tenders
.
The company said in June that more than 60 potential bidders from across the country attended pre-bid meetings
.
The pre-bid conference in New Delhi was organized with the support of the
World Bank.
The Government of Madhya Pradesh, India's vision to implement the 2,200 MWp rooftop solar project is in line with the Government of India's goal of achieving 40 GW
of solar rooftop installed capacity by 2022.
