    The reporter learned from the regular press conference of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on November 28 that the second phase of COP15 will be held in Montreal, Canada, where the secretariat is located, from December 7 to 19, and China will continue to serve as the chair of COP15 and lead the substantive and political affairs
    of the conference.

    Cui Shuhong, director of the Department of Natural Ecological Protection of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that the Chinese government will send a Chinese delegation composed of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the People's Government of Yunnan Province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Water Resources, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Hong Kong SAR Government and other departments to attend the meeting

    At present, China has extended invitations
    to 195 Parties, two observer countries at the ministerial level and heads of 132 international organizations and institutions.
    As of 15 November, ministers from 123 Parties, 1 observer country (United States) and heads of 61 international organizations and agencies had confirmed their participation

    It is hoped that the second phase of COP15 will successfully adopt the long-awaited "post-2020 global biodiversity framework" that is both ambitious and pragmatic and balanced by the international community, and set goals, clarify the path and draw a blueprint
    for future global biodiversity conservation.
