On February 1, Microsoft said it would buy solar energy
from Singapore's Sunseap Group.
This is Microsoft's first renewable energy deal
in Asia.

Microsoft said in a statement that it will purchase Sunseap's 60 MW solar power project to produce all the electricity for its Singapore data center operations
over the next 20 years.
Sunseap's solar project includes a series of solar panels covering hundreds of rooftops
throughout the city.
"This deal is Microsoft's first renewable energy deal in Asia and its third international clean energy deal
after two wind deals in Ireland and the Netherlands announced in 2017.

Microsoft said it is on track to exceed its goal
of using renewable energy in 50 percent of its global data centers this year.

by the end of the year.
