Solar panel manufacturer Solar Frontier (Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced on May 10 that its farmland and residential photovoltaic power generation projects in Mexico will use the company's CIS (copper, indium, selenium) compound solar panels
.
The project will take place
in and around the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora.
Enilso is responsible for the development and is
scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2016.
It is said that Enilso continues to grow
rapidly in photovoltaic power generation development.
The output power of photovoltaic power plants for farmland is 200~500kW
.
The electricity generated will be used for self-use purposes such as irrigation pump drives for crops and cooling, freezing and processing of agricultural products
.
Agriculture is the main industry in Sonora, with cultivations such as asparagus, grapes and melons, which are said to be suitable for dry
climates.
The goal of these farms is to increase energy self-sufficiency and cut costs
.
We will use the savings in electricity costs to purchase agricultural machinery and tools to achieve stable management
.
Enilso's founders were in agriculture
.
We conceived a plan to use photovoltaic power generation in agriculture, and started small-scale photovoltaic power generation projects
in 2010.
The output power of the photovoltaic power generation system for residential is 5~10kW
.
Houses that have introduced photovoltaic power generation systems can significantly reduce electricity bills
by using electricity for their own consumption.
CIS compound solar panels also suppress output loss
in Sonora's hot climate.
It is well known that when crystalline silicon-type panels are used in hot areas, the power generation efficiency decreases
at high temperatures.
