The project was initiated by the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) and will benefit from financial support
from the European Union and the French Development Agency (AFD).
The project was developed by several telecom operators, including Telma and Blueline in Madagascar, Intel and CEB FiberNET in Mauritius, Zeop and SFR in Reunion and Canal+ in France
.
According to the plan, the submarine cable will be completed and put into operation
this year.
