The Malian government and the Export-Import Bank of China signed a loan agreement to implement the "Mali Numerique 2020" fiber optic network project

As part of the project, Mali will deploy 817 km of fiber optic network, including 420 km of the Mopti-Gao path, 199 km of the Mopti-Koro-Bi path (bordering Burkina Faso), 198 km of the Gao-Labazenga path (bordering Niger) and a 100 km of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network
.

The $162 million project will be implemented by China International Telecom Construction Corporation (CITCC) and is expected to be completed
within two years.
