Sinochem News reported on October 19 that Malaysia’s Minister of Rural Development, Seri Mahdzir Khalid, stated that the country intends to increase the reserve price of waste rubber from the current 2.

Mahdzir said that if no action is taken, small rubber farmers will switch to other crops with higher prices, especially oil palm

Mahdzir also said that in addition to raising the reserve price, expanding the sales space of rubber products and expanding rubber plantations are two other important measures that can help the country's small rubber farmers increase production and improve their socio-economic status
