122/2021, prohibiting non-degradable disposable plastic food and beverage straws and Import and transshipment of beverage stirrers to Macau
.
The Macao SAR government has gradually promoted the "plastic reduction" work in recent years.
Among them, the "Restriction on the Provision of Plastic Bags" law came into effect on November 18, 2019.
It stipulates that, except for a few specific commodities and shopping places, plastic bags shall not be provided free of charge in all retail activities.
A fine of 1,000 patacas per plastic bag will be imposed on those who violate the regulations; from January 1, 2020, the import and transfer of disposable styrofoam tableware (including lunch boxes, bowls, cups and plates) to Macao will be prohibited through the instructions of the Chief Executive

The person in charge of the coffee and tea shop at the new port of Macau said that after the ban takes effect, the plastic straws and stirring sticks will be replaced by paper ones, which will contribute to the "plastic restriction order" and support the environmental protection work of the SAR government
