Lukoil (Moscow, Russia) has selected Lummus Technologies' Novolen polypropylene (PP) technology for the previously announced production in Kostovo, Russia, according to ICIS-MRC website MRC Moscow on September 8, Chemweek said.

Lummus said its Novolen business has won a contract from Rosneft to provide technical licenses for the company's 500,000-tonne/year PP production unit, as well as basic design engineering, training and services, and catalyst supply

Leon de Bruyn, president and CEO of Lummus Technologies, said that Russia is "an important market where Lummus has been strong for decades" and that the company will continue to expand in Russia

According to Lummus, the contract increases the total worldwide licensing of Novolen's technology to 17 million tonnes/year
