Instead of the original acetone cyanohydrin (ACH) route, the company intends to use their ALPHA technology, a technology to produce MMA based on ethylene, the announcement said

The acetone cyanohydrin route is so dangerous that it is no longer favored by MMA producers

According to the company, the device will be the third and largest commercial application since Lucite first developed the ALPHA technology in 2008
.
The statement also said that the unit will be wholly owned and operated by Mitsubishi Chemical
.
The company did not disclose the exact location on the U.
