Specialty chemicals company The Lubrizol Corporation has named Mary Rhinehart its interim president and chief executive officer, effective immediately
.
Rhinehart currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Lubrizol Corporation
.
She succeeds outgoing President and CEO Chris Brown, who joined The Cleveland, Ohio-based Lubrizol Corporation in 2021
.
Rhinehart also serves as chairman of the board of Johns Manville Company, a global manufacturer of construction and specialty products and a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway
.
She became President and Chief Executive Officer of Johns Manville Corporation in 2012 and assumed the additional role of Chairman in 2014
.
Prior to these roles, she served as the company's chief financial officer for eight years
.
During her more than 40 years with Johns Manville, she has held leadership positions in finance, supply chain, mergers and acquisitions, and human resources
.
She also manages several of the company's business units
.
Rhinehart will also lead the search and selection process for a new CEO and will continue to serve as Lubrizol's chairman of the board
.
