Lubrizol Life Science Health has completed the expansion of its medical device design center in Corona, California, USA, to enhance collaboration with customers throughout the product life cycle

This investment adds a dedicated development unit with testing labs and trials, including an additional 2,600 square feet of ISO-7 cleanroom space

The expansion also includes space for future cleanroom development and manufacturing
.
The Lubrizol US Medical Device Design Center team is led by Eric Mabry, Senior Manager of Device Design, with more than 35 years of experience in medical device design and engineering, including balloon development expertise
.
The device design team can provide innovative designs of catheters and delivery systems for the structural cardiac, electrophysiology, cardiovascular, neurovascular and peripheral vascular markets
.
The 53,000-square-foot facility is equipped with test labs for device testing and benchmarking, prototyping and development, and cleanrooms for volume production
.
The capabilities of the US Medical Device Design Center include:
·Precision extrusion
Braided and coil reinforced catheter design
Catheter return and assembly
· Catheter and delivery system handle design
· Balloon design, gluing, pleating and folding
Conduit and equipment performance testing (including burst and leak testing)
· Rapid prototyping
Laser welding, cutting and drilling
· Final equipment packaging
