Li Shousheng, President of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, pointed out in his speech that in the context of the continuous escalation of the Sino-US trade war, energy security and uncertain risks in the industrial chain and supply chain, it is very important to accelerate the development of high-end new chemical materials.

Li Shousheng put forward 4 suggestions on the development of the new material industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period:

The first is to increase investment in scientific research, grasp the new trend of technological change, and seize strategic opportunities;

The second is to plan scientifically and invest rationally;

The third is to strengthen applied research, attach importance to user experience, strengthen upstream and downstream industry cooperation, and jointly solve and meet new market needs;

Fourth, we must respect innovation and improve the policies and market environment that support and protect innovation

Dai Fei, Director of the Petrochemical Division of the Industrial Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out in his speech that the industry should focus on the development directions of wind power, new energy vehicles, information technology, aerospace, and green environmental protection, and adhere to industrial agglomeration, scale, and specialization.
