Recently, Kyocera TCL Solar, a subsidiary of Kyocera Corporation, announced that it has successfully completed the construction
of a 21.
1MW photovoltaic power plant in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
The project, consisting of 78,144 Kyocera solar modules, was developed
on land at an industrial waste treatment facility.
The facility was abandoned earlier and subsequently used to develop renewable energy projects
.
The utility project generates 23,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity per year and can power 7,730 homes
.
All electricity generated by the plant will be sold to local utility, Chugoku Power
.
This is Kyocera TCL Solar's second largest PV project
after its 25 MW plant in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City.
In addition to completing five floating PV projects, Kyocera TCL Solar said a 13.
7 MW floating solar power plant located at the Chiba Prefecture Dam Reservoir will begin operations
in March 2018.
