Kuwait National Oil Company (KNPC) has launched a tender
for a solar project of up to 1.
5GW.

The company is looking to develop five batteries of up to 300 megawatts to make up the Dabdaba Solar Park
.
Bidders will also be required to undertake 25-year operating and maintenance contracts
.

The deadline for bids is 16 December 2018 and work will commence
in 2019.

The plant is located in the Al-Shagaya Renewable Energy Park
, 100 kilometers west of Kuwait City near the Saudi Arabian border.

It was disclosed that bidders had to procure 30 per cent of their services from Kuwaiti companies and 30 per cent of materials and equipment
from Kuwaiti companies.
