The concept of direct processing is becoming increasingly clear when it comes to resource conservation and processing of recycled materials

"One-shot heat" for material processing generally reduces thermal stress on the material, reducing processing steps and energy consumption

The production of sewage discharge pipes with high mineral-filled compounds is a typical example of the direct processing concept for pipe extrusion: a co-rotating twin-screw extruder is used to prepare a compound of PP and barium sulfate in a single process flow.

Unique Extrusion R&D Center at New Plant

From the third quarter of 2022, the KraussMaffei extrusion portfolio, which includes a wide range of technological solutions, will be available to customers in one location

The large extrusion research and development center is the highlight of the new plant currently being built on the outskirts of Hannover, where up to 700 employees from all extrusion departments in Munich and Hannover will come together

In a footprint of 10,000 square meters, 26 extrusion lines will be used for pilot production, the difference is that these lines installed will be production scale, that is, the entire line will include all downstream Equipment such as cooling sections, pulling systems, crimping machines and dividing systems
